Lot Ended
Description
Current owner 22 years; in regular light use and said to have
been very reliable; only being sold due to downsizing
First registered
in Gloucestershire in July 1971, this Series 2a 88” petrol-engine Land Rover was
acquired by our vendor in 2002 from a farm in Deerhurst where it had resided for
the previous six years.
During our vendor’s
22-year ownership it has always been maintained by his local garage, J&P
Engineering of Brecon, who also got it through the MOT every year until it
became exempt from this test in 2018.
There are
various invoices for regular servicing and upkeep of the vehicle structure, but
it never seems to have needed much and the vendor tells us that it has always
been extremely reliable, never failing to start on the coldest winter mornings
and proving a reliable workhorse around his rural property.
It had a new clutch in May 2011, and we are told that it has probably
only covered a few hundred miles since, although the odometer got stuck on
97,632 miles that same year so the true mileage isn’t known.
As you can see in the photos, it is very much a working vehicle with
various battle scars here and there. Although not currently fitted, the upper
tailgate opening is included and should be with us in time for the sale.
Starting promptly and running well as we have
moved it around on site, it is only for sale due to an impending move to a
smaller property where its services will no longer be required.
