Description
Started life as a Reliant Kitten and converted to what you see 20
years ago; A-Series engine; runs and drives; be
different!
This car started life looking
very different to what you see today. Until 2002, this was a younger Kitten
cousin of the infamous Reliant Robin and was probably destined for the
scrap heap soon after that. Instead, it was given a new
lease of life!
Towards the end of 2002, the
bodywork was dismantled, the interior removed and everything else stripped down
to the chassis. Fisher Sportscars from Kent shortened the chassis slightly and
once returned to the owner, it was reunited with the A-Series
engine. A selection of before and after photos on file show the
considerable work that was done.
Inspiration from the likes of
early MGs and Austin 7s led the then-owner to instruct Fisher Sportcars to come
up with the design for the body. Once completed in 2004, it looked most
striking with its red painted spoked wheels (now repainted silver).
Since then, it has obviously been used and driven, due to the
considerable patina.
Recently treated to new
ignition components, it has been starting promptly and driving on site, and
while it is not for the purist, it is not an expensive toy for the weekends and
looks like a lot of fun for someone.
