Description
Entry level MGB to use and improve; recent new clutch; deck-chair
style interior; extensively restored in the early/mid '90s
Dating from April
1977, this rubber-bumper MGB is one we’d consider a ‘use
and improve’ example with scope to enjoy whilst titivating the car here and
there to get it up to par. By that
we mean you could improve the paintwork if you wish, fit a new hood, tidy up the
interior etc – but by no means is it a bad car – it starts, runs, drives and
stops.
Under the bonnet, we find the
familiar 1798cc four-cylinder B-series petrol engine driving the rear wheels via
four-speed manual transmission with overdrive which emits that typically lovely
and immediately identifiable MGB exhaust note.
The history file
includes the V5C showing 10 former keepers (it is 47 years old remember), owned
by the vendor since 1992, an older V5C, useful Haynes manual, 9 old MOTs, many
photos of the car pre, during and post older restoration and a ream of historic
bills including some more recent work in 2023 totaling £623 for ignition and
fuel system parts and another £504 for a replacement
clutch.
Historic bills on file show
the car was restored during the early/mid '90s at considerable cost with many
new panels as shown in the accompanying photos. On offer here at no
reserve, it could be spoodled up over time as desired.
