1973 Volkswagen T2 Bay-Window Camper
Restored
a few years ago and recently recommissioned after 7 years in storage; pop-top;
Fuchs alloys; very tidy all round
First
registered in July 1973, this VW Camper has had 7 previous owners, according to
the V5C, the current since July 2015. Sadly there is no history with the vehicle
but it has clearly been well-restored at some point in the not-too-distant past,
an HPI check showing that it was colour changed from brown/cream to blue in
2012.
An online MOT history check shows that
the camper was in regular use from 2005 – 2015, the mileage rising from 24,429
to 49,470 during this 10-year period. Our vendor has kept the vehicle in dry
storage for the last 7 years, recommissioning it and submitting it for an MOT in
July this year which it passed with just a few minor
advisories.
As you can see in the photos, it
looks generally very smart throughout and is well-equipped inside with all the
kit you will need for camping (two-ring gas hob; Waeco fridge; stainless steel
sink; power points; heater under the rear seat; Sony sound system; pop-top etc).
It also some nice upgrades such as a woodrim steering wheel, Empi gearshift,
inertia-reel seatbelts and Fuchs-style Porsche alloy wheels. There is also
a fair bit of kit stowed in bags inside which we have not explored
thoroughly.
Starting promptly and running well
as we have moved it around on site, it is ready for new
adventures.
