Description
1992 Mercedes-Benz 190D (W201)
Very tidy
four-owner example with the 'go forever' 2.5 naturally aspirated diesel engine
and manual 'box showing just 85,468 miles
Dating from October 1992 this late model 190D comes to us finished
in White, and wears steel wheels with plastic model specific hub caps which is
comparatively rare to find these days, but common back when the 190 was current
and everything was an optional extra.
The car
presents beautifully, and shows just 85,468 miles which is low for one of these
cars, well known and proven to be capable of inter-stellar
mileages.
Under the bonnet, we find the
naturally aspirated 2.5 litre five-cylinder 10-valve diesel engine producing a
modest 93bhp, which gave a top speed of 109mph. Power was sent to the rear
wheels via the standard five-speed manual transmission.
Inside, we find charcoal and sports checker cloth interior,
Zebrano wood trim, front centre arm rest, electric sunroof, electric front and
rear windows, electric passenger mirror and original Blaupunkt radio cassette
player.
The car looks to be in uncommonly
original order and has clearly been well cared for. The history file is however sparse, the
V5C recording just three former keepers to our vendor who has loved the car for
the last four years, a couple of old MOTs and the current, valid until June 2023
recording no advisories. The MOT
history shows the car has covered less than 3,000 miles in the last five years
and but a few hundred per year more recently.
Ready to be enjoyed, and cherished 190D’s don’t come along that
often with under 100k miles and in this condition.
