1993 Toyota MR2 GT (MkII)

Appealing yellow Rev-2 MR2 from enthusiast owner; T-top example with black leather and manual transmission

Supplied new by Fox’s Garages Badgers Mount Ltd, Toyota main agents in Kent, in August 1993 this striking MkII MR2 GT T-Bar is finished in the jolly hue of Saffron, and sits upon its original five-spoke 15” alloy wheels.

Under the rear deck of this Rev-2 example (Revision 2) we find Toyota’s legendary naturally aspirated 2.0 litre 3S-GE four-cylinder petrol engine, which in European spec (as here) pumps out 156Bhp which gives the car lively performance, driving the rear wheels via five-speed manual transmission.

This example, is a T-bar, meaning the glass roof panels lift-out making it a Targa top.  Inside, as a GTi-T-Bar spec car, we find black leather and the option of an 8-speaker sound system in addition to electric windows, electric mirrors, digital clock and original radio/cassette player.

The car shows 165,261 miles which have been covered by just four owners, the current an MR2 enthusiast, has enjoyed the car for the last 2 and half years.

The car looks to have worn its age and miles well, the history file including the V5C revealing three former keepers, the owner’s pack and service book recording some 15 stamps, the last in July 2010 at 92,991 miles plus the current MOT, valid until May 2023 with no advisories recorded.

Our vendor, during is tenure has renewed the radiator although there is no bill on file.
