Showing just 48,822 kilometers; rare 1979
Benelli Quattro 500LS; featured on the cover of Classic Bike Guide magazine in
March 2023; engine starts readily at the touch of a
button
Finished in attractive two-tone metallic blue
and black, this rare 1979 Benelli Quattro 500LS is a particularly well-known
example, having featured on the cover of Classic Bike Guide magazine in March
2023, together with an extensive five-page feature article. A copy of the
magazine accompanies the machine and forms part of its history
file.
Manufactured in Pesaro, Italy, at Benelli's
famous factory, the Quattro 500LS is an excellent example of the innovative and
charismatic multi-cylinder motorcycles that emerged from the Italian
manufacturer during the late 1970s. Powered by its distinctive 498cc
four-cylinder engine, the model remains a rare sight on UK roads today and
offers an appealing alternative to its Japanese
contemporaries.
First registered in the UK on 6 August 2020,
this example has had just one former keeper, with the current vendor acquiring
the machine in February 2023. The odometer is showing 48,822 kilometers, while
the engine starts readily at the touch of a button, as demonstrated in the
accompanying video.
Presenting well in its striking period colour
scheme, the Benelli appears to have been enthusiastic, owned and carefully
maintained. Its rarity, magazine feature history and low ownership make it an
especially attractive proposition for collectors and enthusiasts of classic
Italian motorcycles.
Accompanying paperwork includes the V5C
registration document and the March 2023 issue of Classic Bike Guide, featuring
the motorcycle on the front cover and in a detailed five-page article. A rare
and charismatic Italian classic, offering individuality, usability and
documented magazine provenance.
