Only in
production from 2002 – 2003, the GT was the last and most powerful version of
the DB7 and cost around £105,000 new. It was powered by a tuned version of the
Vantage V12 engine which upped the power from 420bhp to 435bhp (although rumour
has it that it actually produced 460bhp which Aston kept quiet so as not to
upset Vanquish buyers who had paid £60k more for a slower car). The chassis was
also 20% stiffer and it had various aerodynamic tweaks which reduced lift by
almost 50%.
Fitted with distinctive twin bonnet
vents, the GT also had a mesh front grille, lower air intake and
unique 5-spoke 18” alloy wheels. It also had sports suspension, a free-flowing
sports exhaust, quick-shift 6-speed manual gearbox with a twin-plate racing
clutch and bigger Brembo brakes. The final drive was changed from the 3.77 of
the Vantage to 4.09 in the GT, so although the top speed of 185mph remained, the
0-60 time dropped from 5.7 seconds to 4.9 seconds. Only 191 were built, 85 in
RHD for the UK market, the rest LHD.
Supplied new by Aston Martin
dealership Stratton Motor Company of Norfolk in June 2003, this gorgeous
DB7 GT V12 Manual has had just four owners to date, our vendor acquiring the car
from Chiltern Aston Centre in October 2020 when it had covered 59,730 miles, the
purchase invoice showing that it cost him £55,675.
It has now covered
69,460 miles and comes with an excellent service history comprising 14 stamps in
the book, the last by Fisher Performance of Droitwich at 66,206 miles in April
last year, plus many supporting invoices. That gives an average service interval
of just under 5,000 miles. It also had new rear diff fitted last year and the
subframe was removed, restored and waxoil treated at the same time, a very
costly job.
Supplied with its original handbooks, it also comes with a
tailored indoor car cover, a battery conditioner and a Tracker theft-recovery
system. It has an MOT until August 2025 with no advisories recorded. There are
also 11 old MOTs which show that it has not had any advisories in the last 10
years.
As you can see in the photos, it is in lovely condition
throughout, the only real blemish we noted being some slight lacquer peel on the
front left corner of the plastic nose cone (as pictured). We are told that it
drives as well as it looks and it has certainly been starting promptly and
running beautifully as we have moved it around on site. Super rare and super
fast, the icing on the cake is the AML number plate which comes
with the car.
Our vendor loaned this GT to the 'JayEmm on
Cars' YouTube channel three years ago when it had covered 62,000 miles. To see
