Description
Two-owner Cooper with just 68,500 miles showing; recent full service
and four new shocks; very smart indeed; driven to us and ready to
go....
Painted Flame Red with a white roof, this 1991 Cooper comes
to us in carburettor form and has had one owner from new until late last
year.
Sold new by HWM Motors of Walton-on-Thames to a Miss Coleman, she
was to keep the car for the next 31 years or so, our vendor acquiring it through
Mini specialists Paul Higgs Cars at the start of this year.
Fulfilling a
long-felt desire to relive his youth, which included some serious rallying in a
Cooper back in the day, he has had a change of plans so this splendid example is
back on the market for only the second time in over 30 years.
The
original bill of sale shows it cost Miss Coleman £6,400 and she clearly loved
the car given its condition today. It is in lovely order inside and out, bar a
few microblisters on the driver's front wing. It also retains its original book
pack including service book which shows one stamp by HWM for it's first service
and HWM key fob.
Just before our vendor collected it, the car
received a full engine service including tappets, mixture and timing checks. The
rear brakes were serviced and the front suspension was stripped and fitted with
Hi-Lo adjustable suspension. Four new shocks were added. Two new front tyres
were fitted and top and bottom steering column bushes were fitted along
with a new fuel sender unit.
It has an MOT until November 2024, which had
two advisories for the front tyres which have now been replaced.
An ideal
first car, show car or city express, this nippy Cooper looks excellent value at
the suggested guide price.
