Lot Ended
Description
Restored in 2017; showing only 40,000 miles; thought to have been used
on a private estate for much of is early life; petrol engine
First registered in April 1976, this Series 3 is rumoured to have
been sold originally to the Earl of Scarborough and kept on the Sandbeck Estate
in Maltby. The Heritage Certificate on file confirms the date but not the
distributor or recipient.
The Land
Rover was discovered by the previous owner looking rather abandoned in a
garden in Sheffield, where it had apparently been sitting for some 16
years. In 2017, he set about restoring it to its current condition. This
included replacing the rear half of the chassis, the doors, the fuel tank and
various other parts – most of which are recorded within the file of
paperwork.
The V5C implies eight keepers during
its life including our vendor who has owned it since 2022. The
39,423 mileage showing is thought to be correct, although there is no
guarantee of that. The online MOT history goes back to 2005 when it was showing
29,000 miles.
Petrol-powered and carrying a
valid MOT until October 2024 with no advisories, this looks a very tidy 109,
ready for a new adventures.
