Description
Late model 1.6L with scope to use and improve cosmetically; low
indicated mileage; wonderfully simple period motoring
Supplied new by Grantham Motors, London in March 1980, this MkV
Ford Cortina comes to us in 1600 L spec and is finished in Sable Brown and sits
on period correct 13” four-stud alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet, we find the 1.6 litre four cylinder petrol engine
driving the rear wheels via four-speed manual transmission.
Inside the cabin we find a beige cloth interior with matching
carpets and contrasting brown dashboard and door cards. The spec includes a
heated rear screen, original radio/cassette unit, manual windows and
mirrors.
The car shows 49,774 miles which
cannot be warranted and presents well enough although the cosmetics could
be improved as pictured.
The history file
includes the V5C showing five former keepers (the 2nd owner keeping
the car from 1981 – 2016), one old MOT from 2021 at 49,377 miles and the
original service book recording four historic stamps, the last in 1982 at 16,658
miles.
A good example to use and
improve that has never been modified or mucked about
with.
