Description
Lightly upgraded four-door split-screen Minor; a most usable example
driven to the sale; ideal budget classic ready to enjoy
First
registered in August 1955, this Split Screen Minor shows just four owners on the
V5C and came into the hands of the vendor in 2018.
He purchased it to use
as an everyday car to be enjoyed along with his other classics. Over the
last five years, some 23,000 miles have been added - trouble-free bar a few
minor tweaks here and there which have taken the odometer just over the 100,000
mark.
In an ideal spec to use regularly, not only is it of the practical
(and pretty) four-door split-screen variety, it also has a larger than
standard 1,098cc engine, later gearbox and taller 4.22:1 diff fitted by the
Morris Minor Centre back in about 2000. The vendor has also added rear
telescopic shocks.
Now with an alternator conversion, negative
earth electrics and Maniflow performance exhuast system, the car was driven some
30 miles to the sale, has been starting as only an A-series engine can
and has been running around nicely onsite. The file includes many invoices
and much history of expenditure over the years.
An ideal budget classic
which can continue to be used every day, this Morris looks very presentable,
sits nicely on 165 radial tyres and looks excellent value at the modest guide
suggested.
