Smart Figaro from lady ownership refinished in purple showing
just 102,000km with recent replacement hood sections
Dating from 1991 (as with all of them) this cutesy Nissan Figaro is
a Japanese Kei car and one of just 20,000 built in 1991 (8,000 were
originally planned, but such was the demand an additional 12,000 were built, and
sold via a lottery) and comes to us refinished in Purple but was originally Pale
Aqua and features the clever folding central roof section to create a Targa
style open top experience and sits on its original steel wheels with polished
hubcaps.
Under the bonnet, we find the 1.0
litre MA10-ET turbocharged four-cylinder engine which develops 75bhp and 106NM
of torque driving the front wheels via three-speed automatic transmission. The
platform comes from the well proven Nissan Micra and featured macpherson struts,
disc brakes up front and drums at the rear with rack and pinion
steering.
Inside the comfortable, retro themed
cabin, we find ivory leather upholstery and seating for four (2+2 style),
electric windows, electric mirrors, air conditioning and chrome trimmed
gauges.
This example comes to us from Lady ownership and shows 102,040Km
and presents well with but a few minor marks, scabbing of the chrome bumpers as
shown and was driven to the sale by her. Her purchase in July 2021 was driven by
a love of all things purple and after seeing a Figaro driven by the heroine in
the Sci-Fi series The Sarah Jane Adventures on BBC.
The history file includes the V5C recording six former keepers
since import and registration in the UK in March 2006, one old MOT, the current
MOT valid until June 2024 which recorded no advisories and a selection of bills
for works undertaken including £674 spent in July 2021 on a new vinyl hood kit
and trimmed rear window frame (a common weak point on the model), replacement
steering rack, new O and D bushes plus exhaust front pipe flange also in 2021
followed by a more recent £296 spend in June 2023 on a service including front
brake pads.
