Description
Smart, usable chrome bumper example with a tidy interior and hood;
useful luggage rack; massive history file including replacement leadfree
engine
Dating from August 1973 this smart MGB
Roadster is finished in Orange, with a tidy black vinyl soft-top, rear luggage
rack and Rostyle wheels.
Under the bonnet, we
find the typical 1,798cc B-series four-cylinder engine driving the rear wheels
via four-speed manual transmission with Laycock type LH
over-drive.
Inside, we find a black leatherette
interior, walnut fascia dash trim, three-spoke drilled leather rimmed Moto-Lita
steering wheel and additional gauge for Amps.
The car started and ran well as we moved it around for these shots
and video showing good oil pressure.
The
history file includes the V5C showing eight former keepers to our vendor who
bought the car last year and a huge file of history plus a further file of
diagrams, photographs and some 23 old MOTs.
We
also find the vendor’s purchase receipt, the current MOT (although exempt) valid
until October 2023 recording no advisories, numerous old tax discs and a file of
bills for parts and maintenance dating back to at least 1990 within which we
note supply and fitment of a rebuilt lead-free 18 valve MGB engine from
Bromsgrove MGB Centre in November 1997.
Ready
to be enjoyed, this smart and most usable example looks very period in its
orange colour scheme and rather natty.
