Description
Restored in 2010 and lightly used since; alloys; stainless steel
exhaust; new chrome bumpers; a really super example of Britain's favourite
sportscar
First
registered in May 1979, this splendid Pageant Blue MGB GT comes with no early
history but a file of recent invoices show that it was restored by MG
specialists Fisher Services of Kent in late 2010. This included localised
bodywork repairs; front and rear seats reupholstered; new stainless steel
exhaust system; new MotaLita steering wheel; new radiator and coolant hoses;
full service plus various other jobs at a cost of £2,357.
Earlier
in 2010 it also received a full brake system overhaul with new master cylinder,
wheel cylinders, pads etc; new king pin bushes; alternator belt and electronic
ignition.
In 2017 it was converted to chrome
bumpers at a cost of £706 and a new set of 15” alloy wheels were fitted at a
cost of £585 along with a new set of Uniroyal tyres.
Ten old
MOTs show that it has covered around 7,800 miles since 2011, the odometer
currently showing 64,186 miles. The last MOT expired in August 2022 with no
advisories recorded. Classed as a Historic vehicle, it is now free to tax and
MOT-exempt.
Our vendor acquired the car in
January 2021 (for significantly more than the guide price suggested here) and
has covered around 3,000 trouble-free miles in it since.
As you can see in the photos, it looks exceptionally clean and tidy
all round, with excellent paintwork, and has been starting promptly and running
well as we have moved it around on site, with good 60psi oil
pressure.
