Description
Project car with many significant parts; exciting performance on
offer; AC-power
There is nothing quite like a Frazer-Nash, with
their combination of vivid performance, fun handling and a hugely active
bunch of owners. In a few weeks time, the 'Nash Section' are filling two full
grids at Cadwell Park with 50 cars! - just after a few weeks of fun and games
traversing the Pyrenees on a Nash Raid - there is simply so much to do and so
much fun to be had....
With just 326 cars having left the works in
period, original cars are hot-property, but such is the simplicty of design, the
minimal number of parts (hence their light weight) and strong spares scheme,
that it is well within the abilities of most competent mechanics to put one
together.
The vendor of this kit of parts was keen to get involved, but
ended up going down a slightly different route to Nash ownership, having added
many parts to this kit of bits which now represents a very comprehensive
start.
The photos tell the story, but it comes with a pair of new chassis
rails (simple u-section steel) and a complete AC 1,991cc six-cylinder engine,
which although never fitted by the factory in period, now powers some of the
fastest cars in the club.
The kit includes a new front axle, axle eyes
and stub axles. There are a variety of back plates and shoes too. There is an
original Frazer-Nash steering box, new radius arms, a new bevel box and rear
axle. There is a splendid TT-Rep-style tank, attractive alloy front wings and
all manner of small parts for gear selection and clutch parts etc. There is also
a radiator shell casting and Frazer-Nash badge.
The engine is post-war,
and although exhibits some signs of corrosion on the rear of the engine, this is
cosmetic and the all important internal lands where the wet-liners sit look in
usable shape - a must with this engine.
On offer at No Reserve, this is a
superb start to your dream car. All that is required is some imagination, drive
and a decent set of workshop tools....
Bidders are advised that there is
no paperwork to accompany this kit of parts.
