Supplied new by Campello Motors Spa of
Venezia Mestre, Italy in 1997 and then imported, and registered in the UK as
many of these were a year later in April 1998 this handsome, yet dainty Fiat
Barchetta is finished in grey with useful removable Hardtop (the soft top
underneath is under the rear deck) and sits on a set of attractive 15”
five-spoke OZ alloy wheels finished in dark grey.
Under the bonnet, we find the 1747cc four-cylinder DOHC petrol
engine which develops 129Bhp and 164NM of torque driving the front wheels via
five-speed manual transmission, offering ample performance in a lightweight
package (c.1060kg) with the dash to sixty taking around 8.5
seconds.
All Barchettas were left-hand drive,
even those sold new in the UK which makes them ideal travelling companions for
trips to Europe.
Inside this pretty example, we
find brown leather seats, electric windows, electric mirrors, front fog lights,
a digital clock and a more modern retro-fit Sony Xplod
stereo.
The car shows just 48,844Km which
equates to just 30,350 miles – uncommonly low. The history file includes the V5C
revealing five former keepers to our vendor who has enjoyed the car sparingly
during his tenure, the owner’s pack and service booklet showing six stamps plus
a hand written entry, the most recent stamp (and entry) being in September 2022
at 48,087Km by T&J Cars of Beaford, Devon.
In addition, the file includes 15 old MOTs dating back to 2001 at
19,102Km and the current, valid until February 2024 with no advisories
recorded.
