Dating from January 1996 this appealing
face-lift example of the popular R129 series of convertible Mercedes, this SL
comes us in powerful SL500 form.
Finished in
Silver, with matching factory removable hard-top the car sits well on its
original 16” eight-hole alloy wheels.
Under the
bonnet, we find the 32-valve 5.0-litre M119 V8 engine which developed 322bhp and
a whopping 480NM of torque driving the rear wheels via five-speed automatic
transmission.
Inside, we find a particularly
well optioned specification including full blue Nappa leather, orthopaedic
(multi adjustable seats with air pumps) electric seats with 3-position driver
and passenger memory, two-stage heated seats, walnut trim, cruise control,
electric windows, electric mirrors, electric soft-top, heated rear screen (hard
top), ESP and digital climate control with AC.
The car shows just 85,401 miles, some of which have been covered by
our vendor, whose wife has enjoyed the car for the last 18
years.
The history file includes the old style
V5C, some 18 old MOTs and a selection of bills for parts and maintenance dating
back to 2012 including the last documented service at 85,300 miles in March 2020
and fitment of a pair of shock absorbers and four new tyres in 2016 at 85,201
miles suggesting the car has covered very little mileage in recent years (just
200 in the last 6 years).

AMMENDMENT. We have now been able to remove the hard-top,
the soft top works as it should and looks to be in good order bar splits in the
rear perspex windows as photographed.
