1974 Ford Granada MkI GXL 3.0L Auto Saloon

Reserve
Little used in past 40 years and showing just 51,000
miles
WOY 988M was first registered in April 1974 and show just
51,000 miles which is believed to be correct. It has been little used and with
the current owner for over 40 years.
Launched
in March 1972, the Granada succeeded the Zephyr as Ford
Europe's executive car. Mechanically,
the British Granada conformed to Ford convention, the initial range using the
Ford Essex V4 as a 2.0-litre and the Essex V6 engine in 2.5 and
3.0-litre capacities. The car generally followed the mechanical layout of its
predecessors Zephyr and Zodiac, using a coil-spring independent rear end
and double wishbones at the front.
The GXL was the top of the
range and came with a sunroof and auto box as standard. This car came into the
vendor's hands from the daughter of the original owner who had no use for it
living in London. It got little use as a Granada Estate soon joined the fleet
and became the car of choice.
It was recommissioned of late, a job which
included four new shocks, new battery, hoses, leads, points, dizzy cap,
callipers and rear cylinders. It starts readily and has been driving nicely
about the site.
Other than the areas of cosmetic paintwork which are
obvious to see, there is a slight exhaust blow and that is about it. The vinyl
roof looks good and period spot lights and Maserati air horns have been
added.
The 51,000 miles is assumed correct - this charismatic Granada is
the right spec and nicely unmolested - a rare find....and its on offer at No
Reserve!

It appeasrs to
be solid underneath but would benefit from some bodywork work. It has had
rebuilt ignition, brakes, new shock absorbers and exhaust.
