1930 Austin Seven Chummy
Ex Roger Collings
family Chummy; well sorted and freshly serviced by Brewster Mudie; full weather
equipment; recent pistons and lightly tweaked....
Another one of
Brightwells' success stories, this fine little Chummy was sold by us in 2015
having lived in Ireland for many years.
Its new owner, by now well into
his late '80s, UK registered the car which had previously been living
with a well-known Irish collector. He enjoyed it for six months or so
having spent over £1,000 on a full brake overhaul, a new horn and wiper motor.
With Austin ownership out of his system, it was passed to the family of
ex-VSCC President Roger Collings. It has been a familiar sight in and around
Presteigne ever since.
During their ownership, the engine has been
overhauled, including new pistons and a fresh clutch fitted in October 2020. It
had a new steering arm in 2018 (a very good thing) and has had the inlet
manifold bored out, carb rejetted and a head-skim - and goes well by all
accounts.
Ideal for class 1a in VSCC trials, or any other VSCC event as
it happens, it comes with a hood and full side-screens and has come to us
directly from Brewster Mudie who have given it a service and a once-over prior
to the sale.
