2001 Toyota MR2 (MkIII)

Appealing mid-engined example driven to us from South Devon showing just 69,364 miles with a recent service and clean MOT

Dating from June 2001 and supplied by Waters Toyota of Hemel Hempstead, this earlier SW30 3^rd generation of MR2 Roadster is finished in black and sits upon its original five-spoke 15inch alloy wheels and wears an original black vinyl roof.

Mounted in the middle, we find the proven (and sole engine available) 1.8 litre 1ZZ-FED four-cylinder engine with DOHC and 16-valves developing 138bhp and 171NM of torque driving the rear wheels via five-speed manual transmission.

Inside, we find nicely contrasting two-tone red cloth seats (showing some limited signs of wear/age/use as pictured), black dash, carpets and red sections to the door cards.  We also find electric windows, electric mirrors, digital clock, Sony radio/cassette/CD player and manually operated vinyl roof with some signs of age (see images).

Showing just 69,364 miles the history file includes the V5C recording six former keepers to our vendor.  In addition, we also find the service book revealing six stamps, five of which were Toyota plus the most recent in October 2022 at 68,832 miles by T&J Cars of Beaford.

The history file also includes the current MOT valid until September 2023 recording no advisories, the MOT history suggesting the car to have been unused, in storage for c.10 years.

Driven some 170 miles to the sale, these SW30 generation MR2’s offer lots of fun, tight handling and enough power to have fun yet remain most usable.
