Dating from October 1979 this appealing Reliant Scimitar GTE SE6A is finished in white and sits on a set of period correct Wolfrace alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet, we find the familiar 2,994cc Ford sourced Essex V6 engine, good for 135bhp driving the rear wheels here, by the three-speed Ford C3 automatic gearbox.

Inside, we find two-tone brown interior with dark brown vinyl panels and seat sides with light brown seat facings which gives it a wonderfully cosy and period feel. This example also benefits from power-steering making it much easier to live with and park.

The car comes to us from 19 year ownership during which time our vendor has undertaken a series of recommissioning works to include, a new brake servo unit, brake master cylinder, new brake pipes and flexis as well as having the front callipers reconditioned with new pistons, seals and pads as well as replacing the rear cylinders and shoes too.

The cooling system was overhauled with a new radiator, pump, pipes and belts whilst the suspension benefitted from new bushes, trunnions, ball joints and front wheel bearings.

The lights were also improved with fitment of new head lamps units, dip lamps, fog lamps and new rear light clusters.  Five new tyres were also fitted.

The history file includes the V5C recording five former keepers, the owner’s manual, nine old MOTs and stack of invoices for parts purchased in support of works undertaken and the indicated mileage of 95,842. The glovebox also includes a kit relating to the rear screen and an exhaust rubber.

Ready to be enjoyed with a few minor bits to improve and tinker with over the winter, these later model SE6A’s were the most popular and numerous, with values recently climbing strongly these cool 2+2 coupes offer a great alternative to the Stag or MGB.
