2006 Volkswagen Golf R32 (MkV)

One lady owner from new and showing just 55,434 miles; black with black leather; 6-speed manual with brand new clutch - Investment Alert!

Supplied new by Caffyns Plc of East Sussex in March 2006 this MK5 Volkswagen Golf comes to us in sporting R32 guise, finished in Diamond Black the car sits on a set of aftermarket split rim 18” multi-spoke DOTZ alloy wheels also in black with blue painted brake callipers hiding behind giving the car an air of muscular thuggery and attitude, almost completely at odds with our sole lady owner, who bought the car for herself as a treat for her 60^th birthday that month in 2006.

The car has been used, and loved in her ownership, but advancing years have meant reduced use in recent times hence the car is being reluctantly offered for sale.   Showing just 55,434 miles it presents well, bar some marks to the body and kerb rubs to the wheels not unexpected for a car of this age and type.

Under the bonnet, we find the 3.2-litre VR6 as found in the previous MKIV generation R32 but with 10bhp more, meaning 247bhp and 320NM of torque driving all-four wheels via VAG’s excellent Haldex traction-based 4Motion system mated here to the rarer, and more desirable six-speed manual transmission which can give a zero to sixty time of just 6.5 seconds and a top speed limited to 155mph – not bad for what’s normally a pretty humdrum shopping car with five seats and a hatchback!

Inside, we find R-embossed anthracite Sports seats with manual adjustment(and electric lumbar adjustment) offering excellent comfort and grip for those up front, dual zone digital climate control with AC, multi-stage heated front seats, on-board trip computer, automatic lights, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring and original in-car entertainment system. There are some scuffs from our lady vendor's nails/rings to the light switch, electric window switches and inside driver's door handle but brand new replacements are boxed and included.

The history file includes the V5C confirming just one owner from new, an old style V5C, the owner’s pack & service book recording six stamps, the last in October 2021 at 54,434 miles along with supporting bill and three other bills for a service dated September 2018, December 2021 for a replacement heater blower motor and more recently, a replacement black suede headlining in January 2022 for £420 and clutch kit and replacement in March 2022 at a cost of £800.

In addition, we also find the original purchase invoice from Caffyns for £26,973 and a couple of old MOT certificates along with the current valid until March 2023 recording no advisories.

Ready to be enjoyed, these MK5 R32’s have gained a cult following and status and as a result, their values and popularity have grown with good lower mileage examples becoming harder and harder to find, let alone a one lady owner car in black with six-speed manual transmission and just 55,343 miles on the clock….Investment Alert!
