1996 Rover Mini Sprite 1.3i

Just one owner and 58,800 miles from new; sympathetically restored and repainted about 5 years ago; driven 200 miles to the sale; very smart indeed 

This Mini Sprite was bought new by our vendor as a second car in August 1996 and he has kept it ever since. Only lightly used throughout its life, it is showing only 58,800 miles on the clock which we are assured is correct. Although there is no real service history, we are told that the car has always been well-maintained and there is a letter on file from Sevenoaks Minis of Kent confirming that they have looked after it since 2007.
About 12 years ago the gearbox was overhauled to correct a faulty 2^nd gear synchromesh, a new clutch plate was fitted and the cylinder head was overhauled with new valve stem oil seals. About 10 years ago it was fitted with a new rear subframe supplied by British Motor Heritage along with new sills and door step sections. About 5 years ago both doors were also replaced with new ones supplied by BMH which have side impact protection (unlike the originals). A couple of years after that the bodywork was further tidied up and the whole car repainted to a high standard by Hillside Motors of Knockholt at a cost of £4,400. A stainless steel exhaust and a roof rack have also been fitted and the brakes have been overhauled fairly recently.
Apart from a dent in the boot lid, the car is in very good condition and comes with an MOT until April 2022 with no advisories recorded. Driven some 200 miles to the sale, this much-cherished Mini is ready for a second owner to enjoy.
