2000 Tiger Super Six
No Reserve
Nicely
built and prepared; MOT June 2022; weather equipment; just 8,300 miles since
build; twin 40s; driven to us and ready to go
Wisbeach-based Tiger Sports Cars
have been around since 1989, offering a seven-strong range of road and race cars
which enjoy a near fanatical following among their ever-growing throng of
customers.
With plenty of opportunity to race, track-day, holiday or
simply drive to the pub, one of their most popular models has been the ‘Super
Six’.
Available as either a self-build, part-build or a fully completed
car, they loosely mimic the iconic Lotus 7. This example was built and
registered between 1999 and 2000 – a full photographic record of the build
sequence from chassis delivery to SVA test being on file.
It was built
with a rebuilt 2.0-litre Pinto engine with twin DCOE 40s (genuine) and a
high-lift cam mated to a five-speed type 9 gearbox. We are told it develops in
the region of 130bhp so it should be both quick and reliable…
Since
completion, some 8,300 miles have been covered and the car remains in exactly
the same spec and finish as it was when first built.
The car has just had
a service, including oils, filter, a new battery and a new cambelt. It is MOT’d
until mid June 2022 with no advisories recorded and comes with full wet weather
gear too.
There are plenty of invoices on file, which also includes the
build photographs, SVA details and a very comprehensive build manual which
details all of the components used. There are also 10 old MOTs.
The
vendor advises that it needs a couple of prods on the accelerator to start
from cold, but once warm pulls strongly in the gears with no hesitation or
flat-spots. He adds that it is very docile in traffic and the suspension is
particularly compliant so it is comfortable and a pleasure to drive, yet goes
round corners as if on rails thanks to the Spax adjustable
suspension.
Its previous owner, a trained mechanic owned the Tiger for 11
years, looking after the car carefully over the period.
Easy to drive and
live with, cheap to run and huge fun, it is on offer at No Reserve so the
highest bidder on the day will be its lucky new owner. What’s not to
like??
