Description
1980 MGB Roadster
In depth recent restoration;
fortune spent; full repaint; reluctant sale
This
sharp and well presented MGB Roadster was first registered in March 1979 and was
acquired by the present owner in September 2020 as a project to restore for
family use.
An in-depth restoration followed, the bulk of the work taking
place from January to May 2021. This included a full body repaint in
flame red, Raptor underbody protection in red, a chrome bumper conversion, new
clutch, electronic Ignition, new hood, all new suspension bushes, new discs and
pads, electric fan, new carpets, new chrome and a full service in May 2021. The
parts alone cost a whopping £7,872.20 without the cost of labour or repaint! We
are also advised that in 2014, the engine was converted to run on
unleaded petrol.
As is often the case, the vendor enjoyed the project
more than the family enjoyed the car and so it has seen very little
use since the restoration.
On offer at a very reasonable estimate,
especially given the costs of the parts alone, it looks like a great opportunity
to acquire some summer fun with the hard work already
done.
