1954 MG TF 1500

Lovely car; tub-off bare metal respray in 2008; recent engine rebuild; five speed gearbox fitted; all leather new upholstery, door cards, tonneau, hood and sidescreens; electronic ignition fitted; spot on and ready to go


According to the Heritage details on file, this cracking TF was initially sent over to USA from Abingdon in black livery and of course in left hand drive. After spending much of its time in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it was returned to the UK in 1991. Converted to RHD and now showing off a striking red colour scheme it was kept until 1994 before it changed hands again to the owner before our vendor. It was used regularly and obviously cared for but in 2008, it was decided that HSK 762 deserved a birthday…  
A professional body-off respray was completed with the current very attractive shade of metallic Almond green. A CD on file records the work done here and the car continued to be maintained by its owner, including new shocks all round and cylinder head being converted for unleaded. A fantastic looking example back then, it was sold at auction with Brightwells in 2015 to our current vendor.  
Since purchasing it from us, and enjoying every minute, possibly apart from writing the cheques, further attention was given to this TF. Invoices on file show at least £15,000 has been spent on it since 2015. It was put in the care of Mike Rolls in Dorset (Specialist in MGs) who stripped the engine, replacing pistons, bearings, cylinder liners and flywheel. Cylinder block being re-faced too before a five speed gearbox and other associated parts were also fitted. Work continued, fitting electronic ignition, another Stage 2 unleaded head and a small correction to some old patching done to the chassis.  
Following this, the interior was re-conditioned which included new tonneau, hood, side screens and leather seats all re-covered. Altogether, this is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a useable great looking TF, that has had pretty much everything done that you need doing.
