Only three owners from new; dry stored for the
last 20 years; 5.0 V8 power; solid example of this tough Australian
load-lugger; eats Cortinas for breakfast!
Presented
here, originally by The Ford Motor Company of Australia, is a three speed column
shift Cruisomatic Fairmont Wagon with a whopping V8 five litre unit under the
hood. On the cusp of 2nd or 3rd generation Ford Falcons,
the chassis number here suggests it rumbled out of Broadmeadows in April 1971.
The first owner, almost immediately, shipped it to the UK, having it registered
as AOM 2K only four months later.
Following
this, we understand that it was kept for a considerable time until the late
1990s, possibly only covering 39,000 miles until passing to a second owner who
took it off the road (last recorded MOT in 1999) and dry stored it from 2000
until 2021. Now in the hands of its third owner, lack of storage has led it to
be offered for sale again.
It is clear
that this turquoise monster has been off the road for some time and the body,
interior, engine bay and chrome work do reflect this, but this is such a rare
opportunity to acquire a hardly ever seen machine in the UK and overall,
condition of the above and the chassis are not actually that bad. The word
patina comes to mind and once fitted with a battery and back on the road, the
words difficulty and carparks might spring to mind too.

with no reserve, the highest bidder will buy it and own what could be described
as a Mustang in Granada clothing!
Bidders should be aware that as the
vehicle has not had a lot of activity over the years, the DVLA have asked the
vendor to clarify its identity. This has been done but it may mean there is a
short delay in the production of a new V5C. That said, the registration and car
is recorded on the Experian, HPI and DVLA databases
correctly.
