1999 TVR Chimaera 450
Well cared for example
with a comprehensive spec and lots of history; punchy 450 model with optional
power steering
For some, the 450 is the perfect Chimaera, being both
sweeter and 'dare we say' more reliable than a 500, with significantly more
'push' than the lesser models in the range.
On offer from a deceased
estate, this 1999 model was delivered through Kerridges of Needham Market and
has had five previous keepers according to Experian.
It retains its hand
book and service book, which shows 14 stamps through to 2008 by which time
it had covered 61,250 miles.
There is a good file of invoices showing
further, regular maintenance to 2017 by which time the mileage was then recorded
as 89,000 miles. Its then owner upgraded the headlights to MkIII spec - an
exercise costing £828 and in 2016 a full diff rebuild by Topcats Racing added
£2,728 to the spend. Back in 2009, it was given a professional chassis
treatment by Chassis Clean, who steam cleaned the underside, injected the
cavities with Dinitrol 3125 wax and then sprayed the underbody with Dinitrol
3125 wax and 4941 underseal. In fact, the best part of £21,000 has
been spent on the car during the last 10 years or so.
The colour scheme
of Canyon Red with Biscuit hide suits the car and it presents very well,
exhibiting the expected wear and tear of a car which has clearly been
well-cared for over the last 21 years and covered 91,100 miles. It carries an
MOT until March 2021 with no advisories and comes with the attractive option of
power steering.
