Description
Rare development trials bike built by Honda's Racing Service Centre;
number 303 of only around 700 made; four-stroke 200cc single; twin
shocks; extensively restored; good running order
This Honda RS200 is a rare development trials
bike hand-built in very limited numbers by Honda’s RSC (Racing Service
Centre) division, the
people who later became HRC (Honda Racing Team).
Exact production figures
are uncertain, but it is widely believed that no more than 700 were made, the
frame number indicating that this particular bike was the 303rd built
as part of the TS (Trial Sport) series, an evolution of the
original RS200T with upgrades incorporated using feedback from works riders like
Eddy Lejeune.
Powered by Honda Racing’s 200cc,
four-stroke single-cylinder engine, it has a one-piece red tank and seat unit,
diamond steel frame, dual rear shock absorbers, alloy sump guard and
Renthal handlebars. An RS200-branded alloy plate to hold a competition
number is also present but we removed this to reveal the frame number (see
photo 15).
Documentation includes a V5C, Honda
Club Dating Certificate plus a copy of an original owner’s manual and parts
list. There are also notes detailing the extensive restoration work that has
recently been carried out to the bike which are well worth reading (see
photos).

As you can see in the
photos, this rare and interesting trials bike is in very good condition and
we are told that it is in equally good running order.
