2002 Smart City Passion 50
Auto, finished in silver and presented in distinctive West McLaren Mercedes
Formula One-inspired livery. Powered by the economical 599cc petrol engine
paired with an automatic transmission, this quirky city car offers plenty of
character and is sure to attract attention wherever it
goes.
First registered in January
2003, the car has had nine former keepers and has been in current ownership
since October 2020. It is accompanied by 11 previous MOT certificates, eight
service stamps, the original handbook and a selection of invoices documenting
maintenance carried out over the years.
Recent expenditure includes
the replacement of both rear wheel cylinders, two rear tyres, front brake discs
and pads, a new starter motor, a new battery and an offside front suspension
spring.
The Smart was observed to
start, stop and drive as expected whilst on site for photography and a short
video presentation. It is believed to have been a promotional vehicle for the
West McLaren Mercedes Formula One team, although this cannot be verified. A fun
and unusual modern classic that is certain to stand out in any
collection.
