sought-after example of Austin’s dependable pre-war motoring, this 1936 Austin
10/4 Litchfield “Sunshine Saloon” presents as a well-preserved and sensibly
improved vintage tourer, benefitting from both sympathetic restoration work and

Powered by the robust 1125cc
four-cylinder engine, the Austin 10/4 embodies the marque’s reputation for
reliability and simplicity. Featuring a strengthened ladder chassis and 12-volt
electrics (upgraded from the earlier 6-volt system), the model offered improved
usability while retaining its unmistakable 1930s character. The
Litchfield-bodied saloon remains one of the more elegant iterations, combining

had 7 former keepers and was previously resident overseas before being
repatriated in 1981. Its time abroad is believed to have contributed positively
