Professionally
converted into a Tourer in 2008; recent new unleaded cylinder head, radiator,
water pump and battery; previous owner for 17 years; affectionately known as
Aunty Joan; forced sale due to illness
First registered in Oxfordshire
in April 1966, this Morris Minor started out in life as a two-door saloon but in
early 2008 she was professionally converted into a Tourer by local Morris Minor
specialist, Joe Mason of Woodend Farm near Malvern. This was properly done with
all the necessary bodywork reinforcement, as shown in photos on
file.
Affectionately known as Aunty Joan, from 2008 until 2025 she was
owned by a Worcestershire gent who used her regularly in the summer months,
clocking up some 5,000 miles during his 17-year ownership and keeping her tucked
away in a nice dry garage over the winter.
She was also used regularly
prior to his ownership, with no fewer than 22 old MOTs on file from 1992 –
2018 when she became MOT-exempt, any advisories or failure points being
addressed as required.
In May 2025 the previous owner drove Aunty Joan
some 40 miles to Brightwells and she was then bought by the current owner. In
November 2025 the head gasket blew so our vendor took her to Motor Sport of
Ross-on-Wye to get her fixed.
One thing soon led to another and she ended
up having a reconditioned cylinder head converted to run on unleaded fuel; a new
water pump; new radiator; new battery and a thorough service, the bill for this
lot coming to £2,124 (see photos).
Sadly our vendor is no longer in
the best of health so he has not been able to enjoy Aunty Joan as he had
planned, hence her appearance in this sale. As you might expect after all the
good work so recently carried out, she has been starting promptly and running
very nicely as we have moved her around on site.
As you can see in the
photos, Aunty Joan is in good shape for a lady her age and looks reassuringly
solid both above and below. Like all Moggies she is great fun to drive and will
be a fine way to scoot around over the long hot summer that lies ahead of us.
On offer here at a modest guide price, she will win friends wherever she
goes, it being a well-known fact that you get more smiles-per-mile in a Moggie
than you do in any other car.
