Showing only 54,590 miles; 1275cc multi
point injection; advisory free MOT valid until February
2027
By the
late 1990s the classic Mini had reached the end of its remarkable
four-decade production run, yet
Rover’s final Multi-Point Injection (MPI) models were
arguably the most usable and refined versions ever built. With their 1275cc
injection engines, improved braking, strengthened shells and a higher level of
trim, these last-of-line cars combined the
Mini’s unmistakable character with
genuinely modern drivability. As a result, good MPI examples have become
increasingly sought after by enthusiasts who want the charm of the original with
the reliability and manners of a contemporary small car.
Presented in classic British Racing
Green with a contrasting silver roof and tan tweed interior, this 1998 example
shows just 54,590 miles and has clearly been well-cared-for throughout its life. The history
file is unusually comprehensive, including the current V5C confirming only five
former keepers, 23 old MOT certificates, 10 service stamps, the original
Handbook, and a substantial collection of invoices documenting maintenance and
restorative works over the years.
The car benefits from several tasteful
upgrades, including a KAD gearshift, Revolution alloy wheels with Yokohama
tyres, a Sony radio paired with Alpine speakers, and an alarm system with two
sets of keys and remote fobs. The interior presents attractively, the tweed trim
adding a period charm that suits the late-’90s specification, while the
exterior retains the crisp stance expected of a well-kept MPI.
With an advisory free MOT valid
until February 2027, this is a smart, lightly-enhanced example of the
final-generation Mini, offered with
excellent provenance and ready to be enjoyed.
