Owned since 2017 as part of an indoor private
collection; cracking looking 90; MOT until August 2026
A well-presented and highly usable Land Rover Defender 90, offered
from a small private collection of quality Land Rovers and finished in a classic
colour combination. Stored indoors and clearly cared for, this is an
increasingly hard-to-find example of Britain’s most enduring off-road
icon.
Offered with an MOT valid until 14th August
2026, this 90 is accompanied by four service stamps documenting regular oil and
filter changes in its early life by the well-regarded Jim Hallam Land Rovers of
Macclesfield. It also appears to have benefited from a more comprehensive
service in 2016, including brake fluid and coolant changes, albeit not recorded
with a stamp.
The car has had four previous
keepers, with the current vendor having enjoyed ownership for the past seven
years.
Power comes from the much-respected TD5
engine, an enduring favourite among enthusiasts for its robustness and
longevity, and one that continues to perform admirably here despite the
indicated mileage of almost 200,000.
Finished in the iconic
Caledonian Blue with a contrasting white roof, the paintwork presents very
nicely overall, with only light signs of use. The most notable blemishes are a
few fine scratches to the bonnet, as illustrated in the
photographs.
A useful and
increasingly desirable feature is the fitment of sliding rear windows, while the
rear load area is particularly tidy and would lend itself equally well to
practical use or conversion to rear seating if desired.
Sitting on 16-inch silver ‘Boost’ alloy wheels, the car is shod with
chunky Continental Cross Contact tyres all round, each showing good levels of
tread.
Inside, the Defender is exceptionally
tidy, appearing to benefit from a recent headlining, retaining unripped seats,
complemented by a rubber floor liner well suited to muddy boots and country
use.
The vehicle was seen to start readily and
drive on site without fuss, just as one would hope.
Encouragingly, both the chassis and bulkhead present in strong
condition, particularly noteworthy for a Land Rover of this age and
mileage.
This is a very smart and eminently
usable example in a classic colour combination — a prime candidate either to
modify, subtly personalise, or simply use and enjoy as is. Whichever you choose
we don’t see them like this very often.
