Description
1934 Morris 8 Saloon
Older restoration; on
offer from a deceased's estate; for minor recommissioning
This nice
little 1934 Morris Eight saloon was living in Essex in the late 1960s, moving to
a gent in Grays, Essex in 1971 before it was offered at Auction in 2007
having lived with its then owner for some 20 years.
The auction ad
intimated that it had been restored around 20 years prior, so we guess that
was some time in the 1980s. There are various bills on file throughout the years
and it came into the hands of our vendor's late father in 2008 through a
private sale, the car having failed to sell at the aforementioned auction at
Olympia.
He enjoyed it very much and used it regularly, carting the
family here and there. It hasn't had any exercise for a few years and so now
needs a bit of TLC to turn it back into the car that lurks within.
These
Morris' are so simple and easy to work on, with an endless supply of cheap parts
that it shouldn't take much to get it out and about again.
Comfortable,
practical and with enough performance to keep abreast of traffic on most A and B
roads, this looks like a lot of pre-war motoring for not a great
outlay.
The file includes a V5C, old style V5 and a continuation buff
logbook as well as a workshop manual for a later model, correct handbook and
some nice lubrication charts.
