1974 Range Rover Classic
Earlier
3-door example with later 3.5 V8 fitted and 5-speed manual 'box; scope for
improvement or enjoy as is
Dating from December
1974 this ‘D’Suffix Range Rover Classic comes in desirable 3-door guise and
features the Rover V8 engine, although, we gather a later 3.5 litre engine is
fitted with later five-speed manual transmission to drive all four
wheels.
With our vendor since April 2004, the
truck starts, runs and drives but would quite likely benefit from some
recommissioning and tidying up, the paintwork past its best and the interior
looking tired along with some of the usual signs of corrosion in the usual Range
Rover places.
That aside, at the sensible
estimate there’s scope to use and improve as you see fit – a cooler classic Land
Rover there isn’t. The vendor has thoughtfully also included a box of service
items and a Haynes manual to help the new owner do some bits to the
truck.
The history file includes the V5C
revealing nine former keepers, some 21 old MOTs and few bills for parts and
works undertaken some years ago including repairs to the floor. The vendor did note the mileage looks to
jump around a little, although it looks to have had a later dash update which
is not uncommon for a vehicle of this age.
Ready to use and improve or give it some light restoration, we’ll
leave that up to you.
