Description
1967 Morris Minor 1000
Only 7,000 miles
since full restoration; recently recommisioned following 10 years in
storage; new tyres, battery, brakes etc; very tidy indeed
First
registered in June 1967, this lovely Morris Minor Two-Door was fully restored in
the early 1990s including a rebuilt engine, alternator conversion and a
retrimmed interior with black leather seat covers and inertia reel seatbelts.
Although there are no invoices for the work
carried out, a detailed AA Vehicle Inspection Report dated November 1994 states
that: “It is clear that the car has been painstakingly restored to a very high
standard and is now in many ways as good as new”. The mileage at that point was
35,100 (which was said to be correct) and while 28 years and 7,000 miles later
we wouldn’t quite go that far, it is still a very pretty car.
Our vendor acquired the car in July 2021 at
which point it had been in storage for 10 years so a thorough recommissioning
was carried out. This included the following new parts: brake shoes; brake
cylinders; Borg & Beck brake master cylinder; hand brake cables; radiator;
indicator flasher unit; electric windscreen washer kit; battery; new set of
tyres plus a full service.
Starting promptly
and running sweetly as we have moved it around on site, it has an MOT until
March 2023 with no advisories recorded. An original owner’s handbook and a
period BMC accessories brochure are also present along with 8 old MOTs and
invoices for the recent recommissioning.
A very
pleasing car all round, it is only reluctantly for sale due to an impending
house move and consequent loss of storage.
