Remarkable survivor, showing
just 19,827 miles from new; 1,588cc petrol engine, coupled to a five-speed
manual gearbox; advisory-free MOT, valid until July 2027; genuine time-warp
example of one of Rover's final mainstream models
Few modern
classics better illustrate the changing face of British motoring than the Rover
45. Comfortable, well-equipped and pleasantly understated, they were designed to
offer refined and dependable transport, yet good original examples are becoming
increasingly difficult to find today.
First registered in July 2002, this
Rover 45 IL 16v is a remarkable survivor, showing just 19,827 miles from new.
The current V5C records only one former keeper, while the car is understood to
have spent much of its life garaged and consequently has seen very little
use.
Finished in the ever-popular Nightfire Red, the exterior is
complemented by a smart grey velour interior which remains wonderfully evocative
of early-2000s Rover craftsmanship. Unmodified and refreshingly original, it
presents as the sort of car that enthusiasts are always hoping to discover but
rarely do.
Power comes from the smooth and willing 1,588cc petrol engine,
coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. During its time with us, the car has
started readily, and the engine has run beautifully, described as being almost
silent at idle – a testament to both the low mileage and careful ownership it
has evidently enjoyed.
Further reassurance comes from the advisory-free
MOT, valid until July 2027, suggesting that the Rover remains in particularly
healthy condition. The accompanying paperwork includes the current V5C and MOT
certificate.
Increasingly, it is originality that sets surviving Rover
45s apart and this example has that in abundance. Low-mileage, unspoiled and
evidently cherished throughout its life, it represents a rare opportunity to
acquire a genuine time-warp example of one of Rover's final mainstream models. A
remarkably well-preserved car that looks ready to provide its next owner with
many more years of comfortable and dependable motoring.
