Powered by Ford's dependable 5.8-litre V8 engine driving through a
three-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, this left-hand-drive example
delivers the relaxed cruising ability and effortless torque that American
vehicles of this era are renowned for. Long resident in the UK and in the hands
of the current vendor for several years, it has been enjoyed as intended and is
said to have recently completed a trip to Devon without missing a
beat.
Converted when new by renowned American conversion specialist
Sherrod, the standard Econoline was transformed into a luxurious Hi-Top Day Van
with a plush leather-trimmed interior, extensive wood veneer detailing and
seating for up to seven occupants. The rear bench seat folds electrically into a
comfortable bed, making the van ideal for weekends away, festivals, beach trips
or simply enjoying a more leisurely pace of life. Additional features include
curtains, LED lighting, twin rear doors, twin side-opening doors and a versatile
rear seating arrangement that can be adjusted to suit luggage or sleeping
requirements.
Showing just over 90,000 miles, although the odometer
display is currently unclear, the van presents well and has recently benefited
from an MOT, service and localised underside repairs. The vendor advises that it
has largely been used during the summer months for pony club events and trips to
the beach, where its comfort, practicality and sheer novelty have proved a
winning combination.
Further equipment includes an awning, tow bar with
electrics and a recently fitted battery.
The accompanying history file
includes the V5C new keeper slip, invoice for a recent oil service and handbrake
adjustment, paperwork relating to underside works, a current MOT valid until
June 2027, a service receipt from 2023 and a selection of previous MOT
certificates. Also included in the rear of the van are some spare engine oil and
a new boxed starter motor, supplied as a precautionary spare as the existing
unit has occasionally been known to stick following periods of
inactivity.
