Odometer currently displays 164,557 miles; Category N; MOT expires in
June 2027; benefitting from recent maintenance, the car received a full service
in 2025
Few hot hatches have earned the respect and following of the
Peugeot 306 GTI-6. Widely regarded as one of the finest front-wheel-drive
driver's cars of the 1990s, it combines a free-revving 2.0-litre 16-valve engine
with a slick six-speed manual gearbox, beautifully balanced chassis and
wonderfully communicative steering. Increasingly sought after by enthusiasts,
original GTI-6 models have become firmly established as modern
classics.
Offered here is a February 1998 example finished in Black with
a black Alcantara and leather interior. Powered by the lively 1,998cc engine and
paired with its desirable six-speed manual transmission, the car has had five
former keepers and has been in the current ownership since December
2018.
The odometer currently displays 164,557 miles and our vendor
advises that the Peugeot has been garaged throughout their
ownership.
Benefitting from recent maintenance, the car received a full
service in 2025 at 164,552 miles, which included the fitment of a new cambelt
kit. New front brake pads, along with new rear brake discs and pads were also
fitted, leaving the car well prepared for its next custodian.
The vendor
reports that it drives, stops and starts as expected, as demonstrated during its
time on site for photography and filming. As to be expected of a car of this
age, there are a few cosmetic age-related marks to the bodywork, although these
do little to detract from the car's overall appearance. Prospective bidders
should note that the vehicle was the subject of a Category N insurance claim in
October 2018.
With values of unmodified GTI-6 models continuing to
strengthen and their reputation as one of the greatest hot hatches of the era
firmly intact, this represents an excellent opportunity to acquire an
increasingly collectible modern classic that is ready to be
enjoyed.
