As expected for a French-market car the steering wheel is on

This wonderful 1976–77
Mercedes-Benz 250 Saloon has clearly been
living its best life in southern France, benefitting from the warm, dry climate
that so often preserves these W114/W115-series cars far better than their
northern-European counterparts. Returning to
the UK in 2022, it presents in striking Mimosa Yellow (Mimosengelb), looking every inch the sun-blessed continental cruiser. As
expected for a French-market car, the steering wheel is on
the left-hand side.
Now showing 224,473 kilometers
(approximately 139,450 miles), the mileage remains entirely consistent with its
long life in southern France and its gentle continental use.
The vehicle itself appears to have
missed all the UK’s harsh winters, contributing to its appealing overall
condition. Once in the UK, a program of recommissioning was carried out,
including a full engine service, a complete overhaul of the fuel system, a
refurbished fuel tank, new hoses and lines, and the carburettor rebuilt, all
sensible and valuable work on a classic Mercedes of this era. The car has been
starting and stopping as it should while on site for photographs and video,
suggesting a healthy and usable example.
Powered by the smooth and durable M123
straight-six engine, the 250 offered refined
cruising and the understated elegance that defined Mercedes-Benz throughout the 1970s.
French-market cars are often particularly
appealing thanks to their typically gentle use and dry-climate
preservation.
The paperwork includes the original French
handbooks, French registration and tax documentation, and the important NOVA
clearance letter, confirming correct importation into the
UK.
Overall,
this is a very eye-catching saloon that will turn heads
on every journey, combining continental charm with classic Mercedes
engineering.
