1984 Porsche 911 G Carrera
Cabriolet (LHD); cherished two-owner example; exceptional provenance; shows just
75,638 miles; lovely original example
This wonderfully original 1984
Porsche 911 G Carrera Cabriolet is a highly desirable left-hand-drive
example finished in timeless Grand Prix White with beautifully contrasting black
leather interior. Powered by the renowned 3.2 litre (3,164cc) flat-six engine
and paired with a sought after 5-speed manual transmission, this classic
open-top 911 delivers the unmistakable performance, engineering, and character
that have defined Porsche for generations.
This exceptional car has had
only two owners from new, with a unique and touching ownership story. Originally
purchased new in America by the vendor’s late wife in 1984, the car remained
with her until it was imported to the UK in 1996 following their marriage.
Ownership was then transferred to her husband in March 2000, where it has
remained ever since. Since then, the car has led a gentle and cherished life,
used primarily for occasional “Hood Down Club” outings and carefully enjoyed for
leisure purposes only.
First registered in the UK on
1st April 1996, this Carrera now shows just 75,638 miles on the speedometer,
reflecting its light and considerate use throughout its life. The MOT expired in
April 2025 due to the vehicle now qualifying for exemption, and its history
speaks volumes, having never failed an MOT and receiving only one advisory in
the past 19 years. Included within the history file are old MOT certificates,
handbook, service book, and invoices documenting maintenance and servicing over
the years.
Although the original service
book was unfortunately misplaced, a replacement has been obtained, and the
vendor confirms the car has been regularly serviced throughout ownership.
Significant maintenance includes a new alternator, various repairs, and a full
service by a Porsche specialist in October 2021, with a supporting receipt
included. The security system was also replaced in 2023, with full operational
details supplied.
In 2010, the interior and hood
were professionally refurbished and, due to minimal use since, remain in
excellent condition today. The car presents as an impressively original example,
retaining factory details such as the original data sticker under the front
bonnet—an increasingly rare feature that will appeal greatly to collectors and
marque enthusiasts.
The vendor, now 89 years of
age, is now reluctantly offering his beloved Porsche for sale, simply
due to the difficulty of access rather than any fault with the
vehicle. On site, the car was reported to start, drive, and stop exactly as
expected, further supporting its reputation as a well-preserved and genuine
example.
A rare opportunity to acquire
an honest, low-ownership, and highly original 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet with
heartfelt provenance, this 911 is perfectly suited to collectors, enthusiasts,
or anyone seeking one of Stuttgart’s most iconic air-cooled driving experiences.
Combining classic style, engaging performance, and remarkable history, this
Porsche represents a truly special offering.
