1996 XR600R is presented in its original colour scheme and now offered in
excellent riding condition.
The vendor acquired the bike
part-way through a
restoration, with the engine already rebuilt, and has since completed the
remaining work to a high standard. The machine now starts, runs, and rides as it
should — a strong, torquey thumper ready for
immediate use.
This highly usable XR600R
features Honda’s renowned four-stroke 591 cc RFVC
single with a 97 × 80 mm bore and stroke, 9.0:1
compression, 39 mm PD-type carburetor and
air-cooling, paired
with a 43 mm Showa cartridge fork with 8-position
compression damping, Pro-Link rear
suspension with full adjustability, a 256 mm front disc brake, 134 kg dry
weight, 10.5-litre fuel
capacity, 345.5 mm ground clearance and 295 mm front wheel travel, and is
currently fitted with supermoto alloy rims for enhanced road manners while also
supplied with its original off-road wheel set,
making it a versatile and event-ready
machine.
Well regarded for their rugged
simplicity and long-distance
durability, XR600Rs have become increasingly sought after, particularly as more
events recognise their historic significance. This example is now eligible for a
wide range of historic off-road and rally
