Rare Morea Green example of BMW’s popular E36 Coupe; black leather
interior; M3-style alloy wheels; 10 BMW service stamps
The E36 generation of the 3 Series remains a firm favourite among BMW
enthusiasts, known for its clean design, solid build quality and engaging
rear-wheel-drive handling. Straightforward to maintain and enjoyable to drive,
these cars have become a popular choice both for everyday use and as project
cars, with the sportier coupe models particularly sought
after.
Registered in 1998, this smart example is
presented in desirable Morea Green Metallic, a colour which suits the E36’s
sharp, well-defined styling. The paintwork presents well overall with good depth
and shine, showing only minor stone chips and light age-related wear. The rear
wheel arches, a known weak point on BMWs of this era, appear sound with only
very minor signs of corrosion visible. The car is further enhanced by a set of
M3-style ‘Motorsport’ alloy wheels, M-Sport front and rear bumpers and an
aftermarket sports exhaust, giving it a purposeful and sporty
appearance.
Inside, the theme continues with a
full black leather interior, M-Sport gear knob and a motorsport-style leather
steering wheel. An upgraded Pioneer head unit has been fitted, modernising the
infotainment and adding to the car’s everyday usability. The headlining remains
in good condition and the electric sunroof is fully
operational.
The service book contains 10 BMW
main dealer stamps up to just under 85,000 miles (now showing 144,211),
suggesting the car was well maintained in its earlier life and serviced
regularly. There are also accompanying invoices for various parts and
maintenance, including suspension arms, bushes, brakes and
filters.
The car was driven to the sale and has
been starting and running well on site for the purposes of photography and
video, with no issues reported. Being the sturdy 1.6-litre model, it could make
an appealing entry point into classic BMW ownership, offering rear-wheel-drive
handling with relatively modest running costs, and may suit a younger enthusiast
or anyone looking for a usable retro daily driver or weekend
toy.
In summary, a smart and tastefully upgraded
1990s BMW Coupe with good history and a current MOT until 30th April
this year, it could offer plenty of enjoyment as it stands while leaving scope
for further improvement or personalisation by the next owner without significant
expense.
