Rally-bred pedigree; turbocharged flat-four
engine; outstanding condition
Few cars of the early 2000s captured the
imagination, quite like Subaru’s Impreza WRX. With its rally-bred pedigree,
turbocharged flat-four engine, and all-wheel drive system, the WRX offered
thrilling performance in a practical four-door package. It was the car that
brought World Rally Championship excitement to the road, and today it remains
one of the most iconic performance cars of its era.
This particular example, finished
in World Rally Blue Pearl (02C/42C) with black interior, shows 93,699 miles
— which, given its 24 years of age, equates to an average of just 3,900 miles
per year. The V5C records five former keepers, though it has clearly been
cherished by its current custodian. Accompanying paperwork includes 17 old MOT
certificates, 15 service stamps, invoices, and a purchase record of maintenance
that speaks of diligent care.
Recent work includes new front brakes in 2024,
a new cambelt fitted in 2020, and new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's fitted all round
in November 2020. It also benefits from braided brake lines, a Sigma alarm with
two remotes, two keys, and an RAC Trackstar tracker.
The car is described as being in
fabulous condition, having been lovingly cared for by a fastidious owner. With
its advisory free MOT running until June 2026, it is ready to be enjoyed
immediately, though its careful maintenance record suggests it will continue to
reward attentive ownership for years to come.
The Subaru Impreza WRX remains a modern
classic, combining everyday usability with rally-inspired thrills. Examples with
this level of documentation, condition, and sensible mileage are increasingly
sought after, making this a compelling opportunity for enthusiasts and
collectors alike.
This eyeful of rallying history has been
starting on the button and sounding just like the flat four boxer engine should
for the videos and photographs whilst on site, a truly useable classic no matter
what the weather!
