Showing just
74,913 miles (unverified); Originally registered in August 1954; beautiful
two-tone blue finish
This 1954 Standard
Vanguard is believed to have had just one owner until 2014. The car was stored
from 1991 and recommissioned in 2016, during which many components were replaced
or reconditioned.
Since then, it has undergone a
rolling restoration, including new pistons and liners, an unleaded cylinder head
conversion, a recored radiator, and a stainless-steel exhaust. The vehicle was
resprayed in 2021, and recent work has included the fitting of new fuel pipes
and tap.
Originally registered in August 1954,
the car’s odometer shows 74,913
miles (unverified). There is no MOT history
available prior to 2005; however, as a historic vehicle, the Standard Vanguard
is exempt from annual testing.
The car runs and
drives well and has been free from any major issues when driven
on-site.
Paperwork includes the V5C (listing four registered keepers),
Standard Vanguard parts catalogue, workshop manual, owner’s manual, some
invoices from the original owner, as well as more recent ones. Additional items
include a Standard and Triumph spares and service directory, HMV radio
instructions, paint chart, brochure, and spare keys.
The car presents beautifully in a two-tone blue finish, complemented
by matching blue wheels. While there are some age-related marks, they do not
detract from the overall appearance of this rare classic.
