Near-completion project; dual twin webers; full stainless-steel
exhaust; same ownership for nearly 40 years; complete with handbooks and
keys
This 1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 is
offered as a near-completion project and has had just seven owners from new,
with the most recent keeper retaining the car since May 1986—almost forty
years.
First registered in October 1976, it left the factory in Green but
received a full repaint to Red in 1995. The 1493cc engine appears to have been
heavily modified and features dual
twin webers and a full stainless-steel exhaust, among many
other upgrades reportedly amounting to over £15,000 of
expenditure.
Although the vehicle’s history file
has unfortunately been lost over time, the car shows evidence of significant
work and does not appear far from completion. It has been in long-term storage,
and we are advised that all fluids have been drained except for the engine oil.
The Spitfire comes with a full set of keys, handbooks, and a selection of parts
intended to help complete the restoration.
Although currently not running due to fluids being removed, we were
advised it was a running engine before being stored, there are a few marks
around the car that seem to have been picked up while in
storage.
