Only 500 miles since a very thorough
professional restoration; many new parts including galvanized Richards chassis;
beautiful condition
First registered in July 1959 and showing as
nine former keepers, with the current owner since 2017.
Recently fully restored only 500
miles ago by the vendor in 2018-19, who ran his own Series Land Rover
restoration business. As a retirement present to himself he built this example
and as you would expect, much care was taken and only the best quality
parts used to make it look fabulous, finished in deep bronze
green.
The
extensive parts list includes many new parts including a galvanized Richards
chassis, front doors & door tops, door locks, rear door & lock,
windscreens, all cappings have been re-galvanized, gas shock absorbers,
parabolic springs, petrol tank, prop shafts, radiator, hoses, track rod ends and
linkages.
The
engine was then reconditioned with new pistons and shells. The gearbox and
transfer box were also refurbished with new bearings and gaskets. The braking system didn’t miss out
on the refurbishment either, with a completely new system from the master
cylinder right through to and including the refurbishment of the axles, steering
box, wheels and new tyres.
The wiring loom was replaced alongside the
refitment of the reconditioned gauges, switches, headlights, battery,
alternator, electronic ignition & leads, glass side lights and indicators.
Further interior enhancements include Exmoor trim seats.
As you can see from the photographs
this really has been a meticulous restoration by a very talented professional
who was building a forever vehicle for himself.
Now offered for sale only due to health issues,
it has been starting at the first push of the button while being driven for the
videos and photography.
