Beautiful condition; only 68,177 miles in
87 years; fabulous interior; ready to enjoy
The Austin 10 was a staple of British roads
before and after WWII, with over 290,000 units produced. If you're into vintage
motoring this car is a gem.
First registered in 1938 and showing as only
five former keepers and 68,177 miles, that’s an average of only 784 miles per
year!
Featuring
a 1,125 cc 4-cylinder side-valve engine producing 21 bhp, coupled to a 4-speed
manual gearbox.
This charming and practical British
saloon benefits from a full interior retrim in 2023, using the
genuine parts and has been completed by a professional motor vehicle
upholsterer.
The
vendor has supplied the following information, the vehicle was in the same
family for 40+ years, previously owned by F H Greening & Sons who traded as
under Alderton Austin Services in Toddington.
There is a plaque in the back with the name of
Aubrey on it. This belongs to the
Greening family from Twinnings. One
of the top five Austin dealers. The original number plate was BCJ
18.
It has been
fitted with a new set of tyres and brakes, the engine has been rebuilt and
reconditioned. The spare engine it comes with is the original engine which has
also been reconditioned. It will
need a set of main bearings to get it up and running smoothly, this is currently
with the vendor and collection can be arranged after the
sale.
The car
has been to many shows and has won many competitions!
